Members of MUSU and the Alumni Association join forces to raise money for charity in a series of events around the world.
Members of MUSU and the Alumni Association join forces to raise money for charity in a series of events around the world.
Events planned include sponsored apple bobbing, trick or treat collections, fancy dress competitions and others. Patrcik Foster, Chair of MUSU for the 2007-2008 academic session said "Students felt they wanted to make a contribution to the charitable work of the Union, and as we are so geographically disjointed we felt it best to plan a co-ordinated series of events so that students could participate no matter where they are located".
Last year's MUSU activities throughout the year rasied over $20,000 for charitable causes. William Baxter, retiring Chair of the MU Alumni Association commented "This is a really good start to the new academic year. Whilst support from Alumni was perhaps not as strong as it could have been, many future events are planned that should include all the members in charitable work. I am sure my successor will have a very successful year."
