Whatever qualification you want, we recommend you
start at Level 1. If you're new to study or haven't studied for a
while, doing a short, introductory course first will help to build your
confidence and develop essential study skills. Don't forget that you may be able to claim points for previous study at higher education level and achieve your qualification faster. Ask at our Admissions Office for more information on Credit Transfer. Getting a qualificationYou need:
Our certificates and diplomas are a way of marking your achievement on the way to gaining a degree. Most students study part-time and do 30 or 60 points a year. If you are able to study full-time, the maximum points you may study in a single year is 120. In your first year we advise you to take no more than 60, especially if you have not been in higher education recently (or ever). We recommend you progress through the increasing levels of difficulty by starting at Level 1. In many subject areas, a dissertation may be substituted for up to 120 credits, with a maximum of 60 credits being substituted at level 3.
